guide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That's why we want to share our knowledge to help you understand what is the <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong>who needs it and how to apply for it in a clear and practical way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the Schengen visa?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong> is an official permit issued by any of the countries that make up the European Union.<strong>l Schengen Area<\/strong>The EU is a territory where internal border controls have been abolished, allowing the free movement of persons between its member states.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We, since we have been living outside of our beloved <strong>Venezuela<\/strong>We realised that this is not a <strong>national visa<\/strong>but of a <strong>regional paper<\/strong> that allows us to transit through various <strong>nations<\/strong> without the need for multiple applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Schengen area<\/strong> includes countries such as <strong>France<\/strong>, <strong>Germany<\/strong>, <strong>Italy<\/strong>, <strong>Spain<\/strong>where we currently reside, among many others.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you get the <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong>You can travel between these countries without border controls, which is a huge advantage for those of us who live abroad and want to get to know the country. <strong>European continent<\/strong> at liberty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who needs a Schengen visa?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img <strong>Venezuelans<\/strong> who live outside the <strong>Venezuela<\/strong>we recognise ourselves as <strong>national<\/strong> of a country whose citizenship <strong>is not exempt<\/strong> to apply for the <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong> if our stay is <strong>of short duration<\/strong> (maximum up to 90 days within a period of 180 days) either by <strong>tourism, family visit, business or transit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, there are specific circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If we already have a <strong>legal residence<\/strong> in a country in the <strong>Schengen Area<\/strong>Often we do not require a <strong>additional Schengen visa.<\/strong> We ourselves, before we obtained our residency, did need it.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Also exempt are holders of certain documents, such as EU resident cards or long-stay visas, issued by <strong>Schengen countries<\/strong> or associated, but these cases are different and less common for the majority of the <strong>Venezuelans<\/strong> <strong>without residence.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, in general, anyone who is not a citizen of the<strong> EU <\/strong>or of the<strong> Schengen Area <\/strong>and plans to travel to <strong>90 days<\/strong>including in transit, <strong>you must apply for a Schengen visa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of Schengen visas and which one is best suited to your situation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several types of <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong>The most frequent are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Short-stay Schengen visa (type C)<\/strong>for tourism, business, visits to relatives or transit.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>National \/ Long-stay visa (type D)<\/strong>: awarded by a <strong>Member State<\/strong>allows stays of up to <strong>longer than 90 days<\/strong>. The following is a list of what is normally required for the <strong>short-stay Schengen visa<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application form<\/strong>duly completed and signed.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/curiara.com\/europa\/en\/pasaporte-venezolano-donde-puedo-viajar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Valid passport<\/a><\/strong>The document is usually at least two pages long and must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended date of departure.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recent photographs<\/strong>ID card type with a light background, according to biometric requirements.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Schengen travel insurance<\/strong>minimum cover of \u20ac30,000, valid throughout the EU. <strong>Schengen area<\/strong>covering repatriation and medical care.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Itinerary or tickets<\/strong>Return trip, or proof of availability.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Booking of accommodation<\/strong>: hotels or <strong>letter of invitation<\/strong> if you are going to see family or friends.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sufficient financial means<\/strong>bank statements, cards, <a href=\"https:\/\/es.scribd.com\/document\/401901627\/Carta-de-Trabajo-Para-Solicitud-de-Una-Visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>employment letter<\/strong><\/a> or stable income. Ideally, you should use the official online systems or centres such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vfsglobal.com\/en\/individuals\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>VFS Globa<\/strong><\/a>l (depending on the country) to book in advance.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gathering documents<\/strong>following the list above, taking care of all the details and formatting required.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Appointment day<\/strong>Come punctually, with all documents in an organised folder. As a tip, make sure you dress presentably and respond clearly in case of a short interview.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment of fees<\/strong>The payment is made in cash or by credit card, as indicated. It is important to keep the receipt.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Follow-up<\/strong>Response times are usually 15 days (although they vary). Check the status online or contact the management centre if there are delays, taking care not to exceed the formal channels.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result<\/strong>if the <strong>Schengen visa<\/strong>In case of refusal, dates, number of entries (single or multiple) and validity must be checked immediately. Ideally, it is best to contact the <strong>official services and sworn translators.<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Financial means<\/strong>if we are unable to generate income in the country where we reside, we use <strong>bank statements of family members <\/strong>o <strong>formal financial backing,<\/strong> together with the explanatory note.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Invitation letter<\/strong>: yes <strong>visiting relatives<\/strong>The invitation must be accompanied by valid identification documents of the host within the period of validity of the invitation. <strong>Schengen area<\/strong> and a signed commitment.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Current length of residence<\/strong>some people have only been living outside the country for a short period of time <strong>Venezuela<\/strong>If you have a recent history, we recommend demonstrating recent history with contracts, records or explanatory notes.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, there is often a <strong>justification of stay ,such as reservations with free cancellation,<\/strong> for m<strong>o show flexibility<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also advisable to travel outside the peak period (European school holidays), which helps with timing and attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special cases: transit, studies and work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Transit<\/strong>if we only make a stopover in a <strong>Schengen country<\/strong> and we don't get out of the <strong>airport<\/strong>we may need a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exteriores.gob.es\/Consulados\/lahabana\/es\/ServiciosConsulares\/Paginas\/index.aspx?scca=Visados&amp;scco=Cuba&amp;scd=166&amp;scs=Visados+de+transito+aeroportuario\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Schengen transit visa<\/strong><\/a> <strong>(type A).<\/strong> It is necessary to check in advance whether this is strictly obligatory, as in some cases the stopover at the airport, as is the case with <strong>Amsterdam,<\/strong> did not require a visa, but at other airports it did.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Studies or work<\/strong>for stays or internships, it is necessary to arrange for a <strong>long-stay Schengen visa (type D)<\/strong> with the relevant embassy.
