What memories! Every Christmas, we boys would gather in the street, full of <strong>energy and emotion.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entire avenues were closed and we transformed our little world into one big funfair. Everyone came with whatever they had: <strong>skateboards, roller skates, bicycles or anything with wheels.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/radio.otilca.org\/las-parrandas-navidenas-en-venezuela\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>christmas parties<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>sounded everywhere, filling the air with these<strong> infectious rhythms <\/strong>that made us <strong>dancing and laughing.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were infected by the <strong>Christmas spirit<\/strong>enjoying the <strong>music and the company of our loved ones.<\/strong> As we rolled from one side to the other, we were also treated to a good <a href=\"https:\/\/elrincondelaabuelavenezolana.com\/el-papelon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>newsprint<\/strong><\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the big ones, there was <a href=\"https:\/\/franchoxbar.wordpress.com\/2017\/12\/10\/ponche-crema-unico-de-eliodoro-gonzalez-p\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>cream punch, that of Eliodoro Gonzalez P<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong> that felt like a warm embrace on a cool evening - how could I forget!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, of course, there was no shortage of games. We played<strong> secret friend<\/strong>but as good as they are <strong>Venezuelans,<\/strong> we always put<strong> our own spark in the tradition.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I remember the crazy variations we came up with. The atmosphere was filled with <strong>laughter and delicious aromas<\/strong>and the kitchen became our centre of operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mothers and grandmothers were in charge of the <strong>stew<\/strong>The mixture of meat and spices filled the house with an irresistible smell.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the men were cleaning and cutting the <strong>banana leaves<\/strong>preparing them to wrap each<strong> hallaca<\/strong> with care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the children, they had the task of putting up the <strong>raisins <\/strong>It was a special moment!
