Jos\u00e9 Gregorio Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> was born on October 26, 1864<\/strong> in a small town called Isnot\u00fa<\/strong>in the Trujillo state.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since he was a child, he showed a great curiosity for the knowledge and a deep love for God. <\/strong>His initial dream was to be priest,<\/strong> but over time he realized that his true mission was in the medicine, in healing bodies and souls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He studied at the Universidad Central de Venezuela,<\/strong><\/a> where he graduated with honors as a medical doctor. His thirst for learning led him to travel to Europe<\/strong> to specialize and bring to Venezuela the latest advances in medicine.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his return, not only did he become a brilliant teacher and researcher<\/strong>but also in the physician who free of charge to the poorest of the poor<\/strong>. He didn't care if his patients had no money, he always found a way to help them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But his vocation went beyond medicine. Jos\u00e9 Gregorio<\/strong> tried several times to become priest<\/strong>even entered religious orders in Italy<\/strong>but his fragile health did not allow him to follow this path. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
