In 2024 alone, global remittances surpassed the <strong>680 billion dollars<\/strong>, and a large part of them came from<strong> United States<\/strong> to countries such as <strong>Mexico<\/strong>, <strong>Colombia<\/strong>, <strong>Guatemala<\/strong>, <strong>Republic<\/strong> <strong>Dominican<\/strong> o <strong>Venezuela<\/strong>. Remittances to low and middle-income countries reached <strong>685 billion dollars<\/strong>, The flow was even higher than in previous years, boosted by the efforts of millions of <strong>migrants<\/strong> that we continue to care for from afar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where do these money transfers come from?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The main source continues to be <strong>United States<\/strong>, from where most of the shipments to the following countries depart <strong>Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, <strong>Mexico<\/strong> received more than <strong>62 billion dollars<\/strong>, the vast majority of them coming from <strong>workers in the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also noteworthy were the flows to <strong>Central America<\/strong>, especially to <strong>Guatemala<\/strong>, <strong>Honduras<\/strong> and El <strong>Salvador<\/strong>, where remittances represent an essential part of the <strong>family economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>And where do they go?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voronoiapp.com\/migration\/Top-10-Countries-with-the-Highest-Remittance-Inflows-in-2024-Low--and-Middle-Income-3651\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>top remittance-receiving countries in 2024 <\/strong><\/a>were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>India<\/strong>, with about <strong>129 billion dollars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mexico<\/strong>, with more than <strong>68 billion dollars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>China<\/strong>, with about <strong>48 billion dollars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Philippines<\/strong>, with more than <strong>40 billion dollars<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Egypt<\/strong>, with about <strong>24 billion dollars<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>Latin America<\/strong>, flows to <strong>Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic and Guatemala<\/strong> set records. Behind these figures are us: those of us who transform our daily work into stability for our families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why does every money transfer matter so much?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Because we don't just send money: we send continuity. In many countries, the <a href=\"https:\/\/uniteller.com\/ut-blog\/global-remittances-migration-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>remittances account for more than 20 % of GDP,<\/strong><\/a> and are mainly used for housing, education and health expenses.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each <strong>money transfer<\/strong> what we do<strong> strengthens entire households and economies,<\/strong> while at the same time weaving a network of stability between continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How much does it cost to ship and how efficient was 2024?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On average, sending <strong>200 dollars<\/strong> in 2024 cost about <strong>6 %<\/strong> of the total amount, although in the digital channels the cost dropped even to the <strong>3,5 %<\/strong> in some corridors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shipments initiated from apps or mobile wallets were faster and cheaper than those made over the counter. Now, in less than two minutes, the money is on its way home.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, we have seen how the <strong>money transfer<\/strong> was completely transformed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are moving from long lines and paper forms to an increasingly digital, immediate and secure system. Today, more than half of the <a href=\"https:\/\/curiara.com\/en\/europa\/transferencia-internacional-comisiones-tiempo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>international shipments <\/strong><\/a>begin in a <strong>app or mobile platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From the counter to the cell phone<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>More and more of us prefer to send from our cell phones. Not only because it is more convenient, but also because costs have gone down and speed has increased.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>2024<\/strong>the <strong>digitally initiated shipments<\/strong> had an average cost of <strong>4,8 %<\/strong>, against the <strong>6 % or more<\/strong> of traditional transfers.
